I’m constantly doing something to my hair. It’s been through everything with me and I still treat it like crap, bleaching it, dying it and using heat on it and I’m sure you can relate.
So I decided I’m going to lighten the tips of my hair. I get my bleach out, peroxide out and start applying (This will be the fourth bleaching treatment) after about 15 minutes I wash it out, and after drying it I notice the end are absolutely fried. I mean I need to get the ends cut off, fried.
Heading straight for my nearest Sallys Salon Service shop, I have a look around (On a tight budget might I add) and come across this brand Ive never seen before called “Osmo” So I purchase one of their deep intensive mask based pureply on the price which was around £3-£4 for a 250ml bottle which I thought was AMAZING.
Get it home, and all you do is, hope in the shower and wash your locks with your normal shampoo and apply the conditioner generously to your burnt out, towel dried mane and leave for ten minutes - I am not exaggerating when I say, it was like a Miracle Cure.
Achieving a pastel mane will take some time so please make sure you have enough time, especially is your hair is not light blonde. So if we’re starting with raven locks, We’re going to have to get down to the “Nitty Gritty” and start with some bleach, my advice - Go to a professional or if you’re a cheap skate (Like myself) You can find bleaching tutorials on Youtube.
You will need;
° 1 Mixing bowl
°Semi permanent dye
°Brush for applying the dye to your ‘Fro
°WHITE conditioner and plenty of it.
Step 1: Fill your bowl with Conditioner, and a small bit of dye. Around 1 Tablespoon for short hair, depending on the depth of colour you desire. Mix this up with your brush (Make sure the conditioner is fully covered in your desire colour. No white bits!)
Step 2: Section your hair, like so https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWORjeCjsuDYMhSr1ODudmxPYXU5c2QSZGITHjRijM9lGax5ID_Q and begin to apply the dye to each section
Step 3: Wrap your hair in some Cling Film and leave for an hour
Step 4. Wash out with COLD water
Eyebrows are the frame of our face, I take my time making sure they’re just right, not too big (Caterpillars) and not too “none existent” Becuase, thats just awful, but it happens and I’m here to help you fix it!
Over Plucked - Barely there look (Avoid at all costs) It’s aging. -
What you need to arm yourself with is: An eyebrow pencil as close to your hair colour as possible. Don’t want to splash out; MUA does the best quality at the cheapest price In my opinion ( http://www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/eyes/eyebrow-pencils/eyebrow-pencil ) Powder (An eyeshadow close to your eyebrow colour will do) and an eyebrow gel! ( Don’t have any an eyebrow brush and Vaseline works just as well) and an angled brush or clean mascara wand
Now that we’re armed, prep the brows by brushing them looking for any sparse areas that are vulnerable to the attack of our pencils! when filling in these areas you want to use light, feathered strokes in the direction of the hair line (Please, please, please do NOT fill them in like there is no tomorrow) you want to create the appearance of hair NOT create two Caterpillars on your forehead.
Now that we have beautifully prepped eyebrows, dip your clean mascara wand or angled brush in the powder you chose and sweep it over your brow blending in the colour of the pencil,
Feeling a bit arty, or just want perfection without paying a makeup artist?
Choose a lighter shade of shadow/brow powder and a darker shade and use the lighter shade on the thick part of your brow ( the inner part) and use the darker shade on the thin outer parts of the brow to give you perfect definition
Want thicker eyebrows without all the fuss?
If your brows don’t grow fast enough, consider Women’s Rogaine or men’s extra-strength Rogaine applied to the sparse areas with a Q-Tip. This should help with hair regain, and stand away from the tweezers please, believe it or not it’s addictive!
